Owner & Farm Manager
Tony has a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Equine Management from Louisiana Tech University with minors in Equine Management and Spanish. After graduation in 1988, Tony moved to Lexington and worked for Prestonwood Farm from 1988 to 1990. Then he went on as Farm Manager to Gleneagles Farm in Versailles, KY. In 1999, Tony bought the business from Ken Baker and renamed it Rose Hill Farm.
In 2003, Rose Hill Farm relocated to Rice Road. The farm has expanded to it’s rolling 400 acres sits conveniently behind Keeneland Race Course’s back door and about 3 miles from Bluegrass Airport. Rose Hill Farm also has an additional 250 acres at its annex on Parkers Mill Road in Lexington also.
Tony’s love for horses, the land, and racing is the foundation of the farm’s success. The element of hard work, staying up nights, and surrounding yourself with the best people possible also plays a role. Many of Rose Hill Farm clients have been with Tony for many years and are now friends. He also has long standing relationships with local businesses that help him meet the needs of his clients every day. Tony keeps up to date on new concepts and ideas in the equine industry and follows the progeny of his client’s horses (after all he was there when they were born). It is always exciting to see what horses will do.
